Constituents gravitate to Teresa's team, drawn by her community involvement, openness, and ability to "broaden the tent." In the 2018 municipal election, her first, she defeated two candidates: an incumbent of the school board (Toronto Catholic District School Board), Etobicoke Lakeshore and a community member. In 2022, Teresa Lubinski followed up with a repeat success, defeating another long-time former trustee and Liberal candidate from the 2018 Provincial campaign and garnering nearly 53% of the votes in Etobicoke-Lakeshore.​ Her reputation as a team-builder who follows through on her commitments is striking.
